Big 12 Men's Golf Championship Postponed Until Wednesday

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – Due to ice accumulation on the greens at Prairie Dunes Country Club, Tuesday’s scheduled action at the 2013 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship has been postponed until Wednesday.

The championship has now been reduced to a 54-hole tournament with play scheduled to resume at 12 p.m. on Wednesday. Six teams will complete their second round before heading into the final 18 holes, while the remaining three teams will play just their final round.

Six teams were unable to complete Monday’s second round due to darkness and were scheduled to resume play on Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.

With three holes remaining in the second round, the Kansas State men’s golf team currently sits in fifth place. The Wildcats were led by senior Curtis Yonke and sophomore Kyle Weldon, who will go into Wednesday’s final round tied for seventh and 10th place, respectively.

Texas golfer Brandon Stone sits atop the individual leaderboard as he will head into the final day of play with a two-stroke lead over Oklahoma State’s Talor Gooch. On the team side, the Longhorns hold a six-shot advantage over the Cowboys, who are currently in second place.
