MANHATTAN, Kan. -- The Kansas State men's golf team will travel to the Big 12 Championships, Friday through Sunday, April 27-29, at the par 72, 7,330-yard Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas. The event will consist of 72 holes, with two 18-hole rounds being played on Friday, and one 18-hole round being played on both Saturday and Sunday. The event will tee-off from holes No. 1 and 10 at 8:00 a.m. each day. K-State has been paired with Kansas for the first round of the championship, with the Wildcats' tee-times beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Wildcats will use the scoring lineup of Ben Juffer, Curtis Yonke, Kyle Weldon, Kyle Smell and David Klaudt at the championship. This lineup has been used for the previous three events, highlighted by the team's first place finish at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic. Weldon and Smell have been included in all scoring lineups this season, competing in all 12 scheduled events. Yonke will be competing in his 11th event of the season, while Juffer will card his 10th and Klaudt will see action in his fifth tournament.

K-State will be riding high into the Big 12 Championship after winning the Cowboys Classic three weeks ago. K-State was led by Juffer in this event, who secured the school's 29th individual title as he shot a 54-hole school record of 12-under par 198 (65-66-67). Yonke, who leads the Wildcats with a 73.55 stroke average on the season, followed with a top-10 performance and ended the event tied in ninth place with a two-day score of 5-under par 205. Weldon ended the event tied for 43rd place, shooting a 2-over par 212, while Smell ended tied for 57th. He carded a 5-over par 215. Klaudt ended with a 9-over par 219 to end tied for 83rd.

Last year at the Big 12 Championships, a No. 1 ranked Oklahoma State team took home its eighth Big 12 Championship, marking its fifth in a row. The Cowboys' Morgan Hoffmann earned the individual title. The Wildcats best performance at the Big 12 Championships came in 2009, when head coach Tim Norris successfully guided his team to a fourth place finish.
