Former Wildcats Places Seventh in New Orleans

MANHATTAN, Kan.- Former Kansas State Wildcat and PGA Tour professional Aaron Watkins had his best career finish this past weekend at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Watkins finished with an 11-under par 277 placing him in a tie for seventh place and earning him $203,175 in winnings.


Watkins, who played for the Wildcats from 2001-04, automatically is entered into the Quail Hollow Championship this upcoming weekend in Charlotte, N.C. The field for the event contains PGA superstars Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington along with many more of the tour's best players.
