K-State's Green Heads to NCAA Regional

MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State sophomore men's golfer Matt Green will travel west to Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., to compete in the 2015 NCAA San Diego Men's Golf Regional, Thursday through Saturday, at the par-72, 6,947-yard Farms Golf Club. Tee times will begin each day at 8 a.m. (PT).

Green is the second-straight Wildcat to earn an individual bid into NCAA Regional play following Daniel Wood in 2014.

"We are excited for Matt to be competing in his first NCAA Regional this week," said head coach Grant Robbins. "He has been working hard and will be ready to go on Thursday. I expect him to play really well."

Green will join nine other individuals in the San Diego Regional: Cody Blick (San Jose State), Petter Mikalsen (Denver), George Cunningham (Arizona), Antoine Rozner (UMKC), Chad Merzbacher (Tennessee), David Kocher (Maryland), Connor Campbell (Loyola Marymount), Hayden Shieh (Santa Clara) and Justin De Los Santos (Cal Poly).

Green competed in all 11 events this season after returning from a medical hardship a year ago when he completed only five rounds. The Lenexa, Kansas, product led the Wildcats during the 2014-15 season in stroke average at 73.18 in addition to low-18 (67) and low-54 (210), as well as top-five (1) and top-20 (7) finishes. He captured first-place honors at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational, Sept. 28-29, in Columbus, Ohio.
