Geubelle Wins KGA Public Links Title

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State rising senior Ross Geubelle captured the 16th annual Kansas Golf Association (KGA) Public Links Championship recently held May 22-23 at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

A native of Lakin, Kan., Geubelle shot a 3-over par 147 to tie Wichita's Jeff Bell after two rounds then defeated Bell on the third playoff hole to earn the title.

Rising sophomore Chase Chamberlin of Lawrence tied for sixth with a 9-over par 153.

Geubelle played in three events as a junior this past season, posting a 78.25 stroke average.  He had a season-high tie for 33rd place at the Jim Colbert Invitational on Sept. 21-22, 2009 with a 15-over par 157.  Chamberlin, who saw action in four events as a redshirt freshman, tallied a 78.45 stroke average and posted a season-best tie for 18th place also at the Jim Colbert Invitational with a 9-over par 151.
