Former Wildcat Gregson Captures First Professional Win

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Former Kansas State men’s golfer Mitchell Gregson earned his first professional tournament victory on the Gateway Tour Friday after capturing the individual title in the tour’s 16th tournament of the season in Scottsdale, Ariz.

One year removed from his exceptional collegiate career, Gregson prevailed by one stroke in the 32-man field at the McCormick Ranch Palm Course, earning him a $7,000 purse. Gregson’s performance on the 7,044-yard par 72 course included rounds of 69, 66, and 72, respectively, giving him a thre- round total of 207 (-9).

In his career at K-State, Gregson won two individual tournament titles in 2008 while also leaving with the school record for the lowest stroke average at 73.05.
