Chamberlin, Yonke win Kansas Junior Team Championship

MANHATTAN, Kan. Recently signed Kansas State men’s golfer Chase Chamberlin and his teammate, Curtis Yonke, won the 8th Annual Kansas Junior Team Championship Monday at Emporia Municipal Golf Course in Emporia, Kan.

Chamberlin and Yonke, the younger brother of former K-State golfer Kyle Yonke, carded an 8-under 63 during the fourball round on Sunday. The pair followed that effort with a 3-over par 74 in a foursome alternate stroke-play round on Monday to win the championshp at 5-under 137.

The victory marked the second time in four years Chamberlin has won the event as he and Jordan Smith took first place in 2005.
