Gregson Named Top-50 Player to Watch

MANHATTAN, Kan. - With the beginning of the 2009-10 season only one week away, GolfWorld has named Kansas State senior Mitchell Gregson one of the Top-50 players to watch this season.

Gregson led the Wildcats to their most successful season in over 20 years. In doing so, he became the first golfer since Aaron Watkins in 2002 to win two events in a single season when he took home the individual titles at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate and the Santa Clara Invitational. At the Santa Clara Invitational, Gregson recorded the second-lowest score in school history after carding a 12-under par 201.

Gregson also finished the season with a 71.78 stroke average and currently has the lowest career stroke average in school history at 73.46. He is also on pace to break the school record for most tournaments played in a career.

The Wildcats' season gets underway September 11-12, at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind.
