Kansas State Head Coach and Player Quotes
Head coach Jeff Mittie
Opening statement...
"We were pretty much beaten in most aspects. They pounded us on the glass, and got second chances there. They made more from the three point line than we did from the free throw line. So those numbers do not lie. In terms of our season, I am really proud of what this group has accomplished. I think we left it all out there. We had a rough 15 minutes down the stretch, but I really do think this group did some good things this year. I think it was a solid year. I said it before; playing in the post season I think was a solid accomplishment for this group."

On Missouri's second half play...
"We could not stop them. They went on a three point barrage, and then I thought that we tried to get it all back at once. We took some ill-advised shots. We were all of the sudden trying to score a 10 point bucket, and that is not possible. We were trying too hard at that point to make things happen. It just snowballed on us."

On Missouri's offense...
"They had 20 assists on 24 field goals. So they were finding the right player at the right time. Some of that was us. We lost (Morgan) Eye a bunch. The challenge of the zone is that the responsibility falls on everybody, and Missouri did a good job of moving the ball around. They found her when they needed to. I think we lost some trust in that stretch. We made matters worse by trying to score a 10 point play at the other end, and it continued to get worse."

Senior Haley Texada
On having a new coaching staff this season...
"It was adversity that we had to overcome, and I think that we did a really good job of doing that. It is just adjusting to a new coaching staff. We kept our heads, and we were able to pick up on his technique and styles quickly. They are going to be awesome next year. They are just going to grow off of what they have already."

On the mindset going into halftime...
"Coming back out, it is zero to zero. The game is either one of ours. It just depends on who wants it more. That is what I felt going into half. We were fine, and there was a lot of energy. We knew what we needed to do better."

Sophomore Breanna Lewis
On this season...
"It has been a great experience. It is my first time making it to the WNIT. Overall, seeing our team grow and mesh together and become this great team. We had our ups and downs. Overall, I am satisfied with the team that we had this season."

On her season performance...
"I am not satisfied with my sophomore year. I am just trying to get better each and every day."

Missouri Coach and Player Quotes

Head Coach Robin Pingeton
Opening Statement...
"First of all I would just commend Jeff (Mittie) on a great season. He has a heck of a ball team. He is a tremendous coach; he does it the right way. We have a lot of respect for Kansas State. I was really happy for our players. I think we are playing pretty well right now. I think our kids competed down the stretch in the second half that helped us extend the lead. A much needed lead against a very good team. I thought we did a nice job on the boards. We got a big win for our program against a very good team in a tough place to play on the road."

On keeping K-State mostly scoreless in the second half...
"I think you are looking at one of the differences. Morgan (Eye) we do not have a lot of plays against the zone. The way teams have gone against us in the SEC it has been really hard for her to get some looks. Tonight she was able to get some good looks. She was able to knock them down. I think her teammates did a good job of finding her and hit her in rhythm. I would also say defensively we did a nice job of playing the personel to get away from us a little bit with their triangle offense. We talked a lot about tendencies and different counter moves. I thought for the most part for the short game preparation that we had we did a pretty good job guarding that. I was really pleased with what we did on the boards. In the first half I felt like when we were not making shots it was impacting our defensive intensity in the second half that was one of our challenges coming out of the locker room. To make sure our offense did not dictate our defense, and that we would play tough aggressive man to man defense for twenty minutes in the second half. Despite what was happening on the offensive end."

On being surprised by three point looks in second half...
"I did just because of the way K-State plays. We watched a lot of film, their a ninety percent zone defensive team. We felt like we were going to get open looks but you still got to be able to knock them down. I think they do a good job within their zone. So many times people think, well why are you playing zone again against a good three point shooting team. There have been plenty of games we felt we matched up better in our zone defense going against good perimeter shooting teams. They cover a lot of ground on the perimeter with their zone defense. I just think we had kids that were knocking down good ones tonight."

Guard Morgan Eye
On her offensive play...
"Yeah, it definitely feels pretty good. I think there was a couple times I looked off a shot and coach kind of gave me a look like, why are you taking that. Just knowing that she has all the confidence in me and my teammates, so when you get in that zone you just want to let it fly. My teammates and I were just feeding off each other. It feels good to get into that rhythm and seeing the ball go in."

On playing K-State...
"Yeah, I think I remember Brittany Chambers being here when I was a freshman, and I remember her being someone that we had to guard hard at the three pointers. I think coach even gave me some film to watch about it, and to kind of just study and learn from how she shot the ball. It is kind of a different personality this time, but coming back here is really cool. Glad we were able to get out of here with a win."
