LUBBOCK, Texas Shalee Lehning and Marlies Gipson each recorded double-doubles Wednesday night as 15th-ranked Kansas State pulled away late for a 60-48 win over Texas Tech at United Spirit Arena.

With the win, Kansas State improved to 16-1 overall and 3-1 in Big 12 play, while Texas Tech dropped to 11-6 and 2-2.

Lehning accounted for her 18th career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Gipson added 11 points and 10 boards for her 17th career double-double. Lehning just missed her fifth career triple-double after dishing out nine assists Wednesday.

With 16 points Wednesday, Ashley Sweat became the third Wildcat this season and the 36th in school history to surpass 1,000 career points. The last time a Wildcat team had three or more players reach this feat was 2004-05.

With the Wildcats clinging to a 31-29 lead with 16:17 to play, a Kelsey Nelson three-pointer ignited a 10-0 and 16-2 K-State run to put the game away at 47-31.

The Wildcats built an 18-10 lead at the 8:37 mark of the first half but the Lady Raider closed on a 10-4 run. K-State held Tech to 30.8-percent shooting in the first half but 11 Wildcat turnovers allowed Tech to close the game to 22-20 at the half.

K-State, which shot 44.9-percent for the game, held Texas Tech to just 32.2-percent from the field for the game.

Kansas State returns to action Saturday as it travels to Lawrence for an 11 a.m. Big 12 contest. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports Net.
