MANHATTAN, Kan. - After being named a finalist for both the Naismith Player of the Year award and the State Farm Wade Trophy last week, Kansas State junior Nicole Ohlde was named the Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season, it was announced today by the league office.

Ohlde, a 6-foot-4 forward/center, helped Kansas State to a pair of victories last week over Missouri in Columbia, Mo., and Texas A&M in Manhattan. She averaged 19.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.5 blocks, 1.5 steals and 35 minutes in the two victories. Ohlde shot 51.8 percent (14-for-27) from the field and 78.5 percent (11-for-14) from the free-throw line.

At Missouri, Ohlde tallied her 11th double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She added a steal and a block in the game. Ohlde had five of her second-half 10 points in the final 6:36 of the game to hold off a late run by Missouri.

Against the Aggies, Ohlde produced her third straight double-double, 12th of the season and 31st of her career when she had game highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds. Ohlde's 22 points also marked the 33rd game in her career she has had 20-plus points in a contest.

With her two double-doubles this past week, Ohlde now has three consecutive double-doubles which ranks her second in the K-State record book for consecutive games with a double-double. She has accomplished the milestone twice this season and three times in her career.

Saturday's game pushed Ohlde to 502 points on the season, the second time in her career she has had 500-plus points in a year. Last week, Ohlde moved into fourth on the career scoring chart (1,576) and became just the sixth Wildcat to grab over 700 rebounds in a career (721).

This was Kansas State's fifth Big 12 Player of the Week honor, as sophomore Kendra Wecker has been honored twice and Ohlde three times.

It is the ninth time a Kansas State player has been named Big 12 Player of the Week since the conference's inception in 1996-97, and the first time a player has received the honor three times in a season. Wecker (2002), Ohlde (2002, 2001), Nicky Ramage (1999), Angie Finkes (1998) and Andria Jones (1997) were K-State's other honorees.

Kansas State is 25-2 and looks to remain undefeated at home when it plays Kansas in the final regular-season home game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Bramlage Coliseum.
