Game Time Set for K-State's 1st Round WNIT Game


MANHATTAN, Kan. - Tipoff for Kansas State's first round WNIT matchup against Akron has been set for 7 p.m., in Bramlage Coliseum, the WNIT announced today.

Tickets for Thursday night's game are available now by calling the K-State Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS, visiting wwwkstatesports.com/tickets or by stopping by the K-State Athletic Ticket Office in Bramlage Coliseum. Tickets are priced at $15 for chair backs, $10 for adult general admission and $5 for student and children. Priority seating for season ticket holders will not be available for the WNIT, with all tickets made available on a first come first serve basis.

The Wildcats (18-13, 7-11 Big 12) will be opposed by the Zips (22-8, 12-6 Mid-American) on Thursday in Bramlage Coliseum. K-State and Akron will meet for the first time. The Wildcats are 18-4 all-time against teams from the Mid-American Conference, with the last meeting against a MAC program coming on March 28, 2013 against Ball State in the 2013 Postseason WNIT, a 60-48 K-State win.

Thursday's game will be broadcast for free on K-StateHD.TV, throughout the K-State Sports Network on the radio and with free audio on kstatesports.com/allaccess.

K-State is 13-3 in its previous four WNIT Tournament appearances in 1999, 2006, 2007 and 2013. The Wildcats captured the 2006 WNIT title for the first postseason title in school history in front of a sell-out crowd of 13,340 fans.

The winner of the Kansas State-Akron game will play the winner of the Missouri-Northern Iowa matchup on either March 21, 22, 23 or 24 at a site to be determined.
