Women's Basketball Team To Be Honored In Topeka

The Wildcats take over the government on Thursday.

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's basketball team has been invited to the state capitol on Thursday to be honored in both the State Senate and House of Representatives beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Wildcats will receive certificates in the House and have a resolution named in their honor in the Senate.

K-State, which finished its season 26-8 overall, 11-5 in the Big 12 and reached the Sweet Sixteen for the first time in 19 years, was invited to the capitol by Manhattan's Senator Lana Oleen, majority leader, Representative Kent Glasscock, Speaker of the House, and Representatives Vern Osborne of Wamego and Jeff Peterson of Manhattan.
