K-State Women to Hold Banquet May 3

MANHATTAN, Kan. The 2008 Big 12 regular season champion Kansas State women’s basketball team will hold its season-ending banquet on Saturday, May 3 at 6 p.m. in the ballroom of the Kansas State Alumni Center, athletics department officials announced Friday.


Tickets for the banquet are available for $30 per person and the event is limited to the first 100 people and fans are encouraged to make their reservations by Wednesday, April 30 or until the event is sold out.


The evening’s festivities will include a review of the 2007-08 season, a highlight video and presentation of both awards and senior gifts. A complimentary meal will be included in the ticket price.

Kansas State completed the 2007-08 season with a 22-10 overall record, including the school’s second Big 12 regular season title and first outright crown with a 13-3 mark. K-State became the first basketball program, male or female, in Big 12 history to go worst to first in the span of one season. The Wildcats made the 10th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history and the seventh straight postseason appearance as a No. 5 seed in the New Orleans Regional.
