Aug. 8, 2012
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State women’s basketball head coach Deb Patterson announced on Wednesday the schedule for the 2012-13 season. The Wildcats’ non-conference slate includes nine opponents who reached a postseason tournament during the 2011-12 season. The league schedule will feature an 18-game, round-robin format that will begin in early January and will feature games against the league’s newest members, TCU and West Virginia.
"As always our non-conference schedule is extremely challenging,” said Patterson about the 2012-13 schedule. “We will compete against several 2012 postseason teams and will experience a wide variety of styles of play in preparation for Big 12 play. In particular, the tournament in Las Vegas will test us at a level similar to that of the Big 12 or the NCAA Tournament.”
K-State will open the 2012-13 season with a pair of exhibition games against in-state MIAA opponents. The Wildcats will face Fort Hays State on Thursday, Nov. 1, followed by a matchup against Washburn on Monday, Nov. 5.
