K-State Sets Two-Game Exhibition Slate

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State women’s basketball announced a two-game exhibition schedule on Wednesday afternoon to prep for the 2008-09 season.

 

The Wildcats will open the exhibition slate with Washburn University on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. in Bramlage Coliseum. These two squads met prior to the start of the 2007-08 season, as the Wildcats defeated the Lady Blues, 76-39.

 

Washburn finished the 2007-08 season with a 26-7 record and a No. 5 national ranking, as they reached the NCAA Division II Elite Eight for the third time under head coach Ron McHenry while sharing the MIAA's regular season title.

 

K-State will return to the Bramlage Coliseum floor on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. against Emporia State. The Lady Hornets defeated the Wildcats in the previous exhibition meeting before the start of the 2006-07 season, 64-59.

 

The defending Big 12 regular season champion Wildcats will play nine squads who reached the 2008 NCAA Tournament during the 2008-09 regular season. K-State will open on the road Nov. 14 at UTEP and will open the home portion of their schedule against Texas-San Antonio on Nov. 23.
