Wildcats to Make 7 Television Appearances
The Wildcats are 45-33 all-time on FSN, including a 5-3 mark on the network last season. K-State is 74-47 all-time in televised contests and since the start of the 2002-03 season, the Wildcats will have appeared on television at least 98 times.
K-State will make all seven appearances on either FSN or FSN Kansas City including three of their five contests between Feb. 10 and Feb. 24. Kansas State will make their 2009-10 television debut during the non-conference slate, as the Wildcats host Washington State on Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., on FSN Kansas City.
Kansas State will make their national debut on FSN on Jan. 9 with an 11 a.m., tip-off against Kansas in the Big 12 opener for both squads. Following the contest with the Jayhawks, K-State returns to the FSN Kansas City airwaves on Jan. 20, 2010 against Colorado at 7 p.m.
K-State will make its next appearance in a national telecast on Jan. 23, 2010 at Nebraska with an 11 a.m., tip-off. The third appearance on FS Kansas City for the Wildcats will be on Feb. 10, 2010 at 7 p.m., against Missouri.
The Wildcats will make its final national appearance of the 2009-10 season on FSN against Oklahoma on Feb. 21. The 2 p.m. broadcast from Bramlage Coliseum will be a special event, as the game between the Sooners and Wildcats will include K-State's participation in the WBCA "Pink Zone," a national initiative for breast cancer awareness.
Kansas State's final appearance on FSN Kansas City will be on Feb. 24, 2010 against Texas Tech at 7 p.m.
Additional televised contests could be added to the schedule, pending the decisions of other FSN regional networks within the Big 12 and K-State's non-conference opponents. All of Kansas State's women's basketball games are also available on the radio across the K-State Sports Network. Please check for an affiliate in your area.
Game times for the remainder of K-State's schedule have been set. The Wildcats will play 7 p.m., contests against Fort Hays State (exhibition), Pittsburg State (exhibition), Arkansas State and Baylor. The Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic will begin on Friday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. with Missouri State and UTEP and will conclude that night with a 6 p.m. tip for Grambling State and Kansas State. The consolation and championship games of the Wildcat Classic are at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
The remainder of Kansas State's home women's basketball schedule is as follows: Dec. 13 vs. Northwestern, 2 p.m.; Jan. 2 vs. Yale, 2 p.m.; Jan. 31 vs. Iowa State 2 p.m. and March 6 vs. Nebraska, 12 p.m.
Due to the possibility of television selecting the Kansas State football game against Missouri on Nov. 14, the game time for the women's basketball season-opener against Indiana State will be determined 10 days before the contest.
Patterson returns seven letterwinners, including seniors Ashley Sweat and Kari Kincaid, from last season's squad that finished with the third-highest win total in school history with a 25-8 mark and the 11th appearance in school history in the NCAA Tournament. Patterson also welcomes a trio of freshmen guards to the roster (Brittany Chambers, Taelor Karr and Mariah White) for the upcoming 2009-10 campaign.
Last season, Sweat became the first player since the 2004-05 season to record at least 500 points in a single season (545 points) and became the first junior since the 2003-04 season to surpass the 1,000-point plateau. The product of McPherson, Kan., enters the 2009-10 season as a Wooden Award preseason candidate and has tallied 1,291 points in her career to rank 15th in school history. Following the 2008-09 season, Sweat earned All-Big 12 first team honors from the league's coaches and All-Big 12 second team honors from the Dallas Morning News.
Women's basketball season tickets begin at $78 for general admission, while bench and chairback seating is available for $99 and $132, respectively. Single game tickets will go on sale at a later date.
