2010-11 Women's Basketball Promotions Calendar

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State athletics department announced on Friday a trio of special ticket packages and the promotion schedule for the 17 women's basketball games in Bramlage Coliseum this season. The department also set a sale date for single game women's basketball tickets of Monday, Oct. 25.

K-State will offer a "Wildcat Weekday 4 Pack" for three midweek games this season: Nov. 30 against South Dakota State, Dec. 8 against North Dakota and March 2 against Texas A&M. The "Wildcat Weekday 4 Pack" includes four tickets, which are packaged with four concession vouchers. The "Wildcat Weekday 4 Pack" can be purchased for $30 for general admission seats, $40 for Cat Cushion seats or $50 for chairback seats.

K-State is also offering three "Wildcat Weekend" ticket promotions when fans can purchase general admission tickets for $3 when showing a ticket from another K-State sporting event from the same weekend. Dates for the "Wildcat Weekend" promotions are the Monday, Nov. 8 exhibition game against Washburn (football or men's basketball ticket), Saturday, Nov. 13 for the second day of the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic (men's basketball or volleyball ticket) and Saturday, Feb. 26 against Iowa State (men's basketball).

For members of the military stationed at Fort Riley, K-State is offering $50 general admission season tickets with a valid military ID. Members of Fort Riley can also purchase a $20 Fort Riley Game Day pack which includes four single-game chairback seats and a K-State women's basketball pennant. Individual game tickets for all other home games can be purchased by Fort Riley soldiers and families for only $5 throughout the season.

Single game women's basketball tickets will go on sale Monday, Oct. 25. To purchase single game tickets, fans can contact the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS or visit www.kstatesports.com/tickets.

K-State's promotional calendar for the women's basketball season begins on Thursday, Nov. 4 for the exhibition contest against Fort Hays State. Fans can purchase a $2 general admission ticket by donating a canned food item at the door, which benefits the Flint Hills Breadbasket.

For the opening day of the Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic on Friday, Nov. 12, K-State is offering "Lunch with the Cats, for the Wildcats' game against Grambling State at 12 p.m. This promotion is available as a walkup purchase to anyone, which includes a hot dog, chips and a drink for $5. Also, free admission will be given to any K-State faculty or staff member with an ID and any child in kindergarten to 12th grade. The contest will also be "Senior Citizen Appreciation Day." All senior citizens will receive a chairback seat for $8, which also includes a voucher for lunch.

On Wednesday, Nov. 17 against Indiana State, K-State will host "Silly Band Night." With the advance purchase of an adult ticket, any child wearing a Silly Band receives a free ticket. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Powercat Silly Band.

For K-State's Big 12 opener on Sunday, Jan. 9 against Oklahoma State, the Wildcats are taking part in the NCAA's "Pack the House" initiative. K-State will be offering $1 tickets to all fans and will also offer the select concession items for a $1 that day.

On Wednesday, Jan. 19, the first 1,000 fans through the doors of Bramlage Coliseum will receive a Shalee Lehning bobblehead. The bobbleheads will feature the former All-American and current K-State assistant coach and member of the WNBA's Atlanta Dream in her K-State uniform.

K-State will host the "National Girls and Women in Sports Day" on Wednesday, Feb. 9 against Texas. All girls wearing any team jersey will receive free admission to the contest.

For the third straight season, Kansas State will participate in the annual WBCA "Pink Zone" initiative. This year's Pink Zone game will be on Saturday, Feb. 26 against Iowa State. The first 5,000 fans into Bramlage Coliseum will receive a pink K-State t-shirt, which is sponsored by Mercy Regional, Briggs Auto and GTM. The Wildcats will also be donning pink uniforms for the third straight season.

Head coach Deb Patterson will return eight letterwinners, including three starters - junior Jalana Childs and sophomores Brittany Chambers and Taelor Karr for the 2010-11 season. The Wildcats also welcome three freshmen (Chantay Caron, Brianna Kulas and Stephanie Wittman) and two juniors (JuliAnne Chisholm and Emma Ostermann) to the roster.

K-State will open the 2010-11 regular season on Friday, Nov. 12 against Grambling State at 12 p.m. This will be the first game of the 16th annual Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic. The second contest on Friday will feature Marist and St. John's at 2 p.m.
