Nov. 2, 2010

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State fan experience and sales office announced on Tuesday the creation of a new women's basketball rewards program for current K-State students. The program includes a number of prizes for attendance at women's basketball home games during the 2010-11 season, including entry into a drawing for a trip for two to Chicago from Manhattan on American Airlines.

The rewards program is similar to a system currently in place for K-State students attending volleyball matches. Each member of the women's basketball rewards program will receive a punch card upon registration. The card will contain 17 punch locations, which represent the 17 home games in Bramlage Coliseum this season. For every game a student attends, they will receive one punch on their card after showing their valid K-State student ID. Students may receive a punch on their card up to 15 minutes after tipoff.

Students will have the opportunity to name the rewards program this season. Nominations for the name can be submitted at the rewards program registration tables, with a deadline of Nov. 17. The name will be voted on by current rewards members and the winning name will be announced at the South Dakota State game on Nov. 30.

K-State students can earn prizes and be entered into drawings for additional prizes by attending the following number of games this season. For six games attended, a student will earn a glass tumbler and be entered for a chance to win an iPod Shuffle. After nine games are attended, a reward program member will receive a pair of aviator sunglasses with a case and also be entered for a chance to win a flat screen TV. After 12 games are attended, a student will receive a purple Powercat scarf and a chance to win a trip for two to Chicago.

The trip to Chicago includes round trip service from Manhattan Regional Airport to Chicago's O'Hare International, with travel dates and details to be announced. Gift cards will be provided for a hotel stay and additional activities which includes a Wendella Boat Tour and a Chicago Cubs or Chicago White Sox baseball game.

Prize drawings will be conducted at the conclusion of the 2010-11 women's basketball season. One entry per student in the drawings. Students can be entered into all three prize drawings, but are allowed to win just one prize.

Students can register for the women's basketball student rewards program at women's and men's basketball games at a registration table located at the southeast entrance of Bramlage Coliseum, at one of the four remaining volleyball matches or at the K-State Student Union from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., on Wednesday, Nov. 3 and Thursday, Nov. 4. For additional details about the rewards program, visit the women's basketball schedule page at www.kstatesports.com.

Aside from the guaranteed prizes, the first 300 members that attend three games will receive a free t-shirt. Also, the residence hall floor that attends the most games throughout the season will win a Chipotle Party.

Kansas State will open the 2010-11 season on Thursday night with an exhibition contest against Fort Hays State at 7 p.m. Fans who bring a canned food item to any of the Bramlage Coliseum ticket booth can purchase a general admission ticket for just $2.
