Cats to Make School-Record 13 TV Appearances

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State women's basketball will make an additional five television appearances on top of the eight previously announced for a total of 13 televised games during the upcoming 2010-11 season. The 13 scheduled regular season television appearances are the most in school history.

The five new games to be televised in the upcoming season include three on Cox 22/Metro Sports, one on Fox Sports Rocky Mountain and one on the Sooner Sports Network. K-State owns a 79-54 (.594) all-time record when playing on television, and since the start of the 2002-03 season, the Wildcats will have appeared on television over 105 times.

The new contests to be televised by Cox 22 and Metro Sports in Kansas City are: Wednesday, Jan. 19 against Missouri, the Dillons Sunflower Showdown against Kansas on Saturday, Jan. 29 and the Saturday, Feb. 26 contest against Iowa State.

K-State was selected to play on FS Rocky Mountain as part of Colorado's third-tier package, which will be contested on Wednesday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. The Wildcats' game against Oklahoma on Jan. 12 in Norman on the Sooner Sports Network was also a third-tier selection made by the Sooners.

The Wildcats will conclude its exhibition slate on Monday night against Washburn at 7 p.m. Monday night's game is part of a "Wildcat Weekend" promotion, in which fans can purchase a general admission ticket for just $3 when they show either their football ticket from the Texas game on Nov. 6 or their men's basketball exhibition ticket from the Washburn game on Sunday.
