Women's Basketball Signs Kelsey Hill

MANHATTAN, Kan. Kansas State head women’s basketball coach Deb Patterson announced today that Kelsey Hill (Overland Park, Kan./St. Thomas Aquinas) has signed national letter of intent to attend K-State and play for the Wildcats.

Hill joins Jackie Stanley (Wylie, Texas/Wylie HS) and Shalin Spani (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Metro Academy) as Kansas State’s freshmen class for the 2007-08 season.

“Kelsey is a tremendous addition to our basketball program,” said Patterson. “She has excellent court awareness, and brings great basketball intelligence to the floor. Her ability to stretch defenses with the three point shot as well as her competitive disposition as a floor leader will add quality depth to our perimeter game.”

Hill, a 5-foot-7 point guard, averaged 10.0 points, 3.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game last season.  She was named KBCA all-state honorable mention and Topeka Capitol Journal second team all-state her junior year. Hill also earned second team All-Eastern Kansas League honors and helped the team to second place finish at Kansas 5A State Tournament.  She was named St. Thomas Aquinas newcomer of the year and Eastern Kansas League scholar athlete in 2004-05.
