MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State Equestrian captain Rachel Webster was one of 16 riders selected to compete in the WEF Collegiate Equitation Challenge on Friday. This is her second straight selection to this event. Last year, Webster finished second in the consolation bracket.

"We are excited to take Rachel back to the WEF Collegiate Equestrian Challenge for the second year in a row," said head coach Casie Maxwell. "She has been a leader on this team both in and out of the arena and definitely deserves to go back and represent K-State again.”

The senior from Mechanicsville, Va., has been a standout leader for the Wildcats. This season, Webster has compiled a 5-4 record in Equitation Over Fences, with two of those wins garnering Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors.

"I am humbled and honored to represent Kansas State Equestrian at such a prestigious event," said Webster. "The Collegiate Equitation Challenge at WEF is an excellent way to showcase the format of Collegiate Equestrian, and helps to further this growing sport."

The preliminary round is set to begin at 2 p.m. with the eight winners moving on to the final round.

The No. 4 Wildcats return to action on Feb. 15, when the team travels to face No. 7 Oklahoma State. K-State is in home action on Feb. 28 against No.2 Baylor.
