Keenan Moves on to IHSA Semifinals

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Kansas State senior Western rider Nicole Keenan qualified for the 2010 IHSA Semifinals this past weekend after taking top honors in Advanced Horsemanship at the IHSA Regional competition at Black Hawk College.

A native of Oakley, Keenan took first place in Advanced Horsemanship to earn a spot in the next round of competition. She will compete at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, NC, March 27-28, for a spot at nationals as the top four riders in each semifinal will move on to May's IHSA National competition.

"Nicole has worked really hard towards qualifying for IHSA post-season competition," said head coach Casie Lisabeth. "She has accumulated points over the past four years, and she definitely deserves to move on. We will be working hard the next few weeks to prepare for the semifinals and hopefully nationals."

Keenan originally qualified for IHSA Regionals at K-State's IHSA Western show on February 27.
