Ayers Places Fifth at IHSA Nationals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Kansas State equestrian rider Macie Ayers competed in the IHSA National competition Wednesday, placing fifth in Individual Novice on the Flat against 18 other riders. This is the final competition for the Wildcat senior and two other K-State riders will compete this weekend.

“She rode really well and her riding has really improved throughout the year,” english coach Ashley Duda said. “She couldn’t have done better, it was very nice.”

“I think overall the competition was steep and tough,” Ayers said. “I would say I rode well today. I was focused and I went in with a purpose to be seen. I really wanted to ride hard and get the job done.”

Junior Emily Wolfe will compete on Sunday in Beginner Horsemanship and sophomore Dresden Sommer competes Saturday in Intermediate Flat.

Results from this weekends show will be available at kstatesports.com as they become available.
