Wolfe Places Eighth at IHSA Nationals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. Kansas State equestrian rider Emily Wolfe competed in the IHSA National competition Saturday, placing eighth in Individual Beginner Horsemanship against 12 other riders. This is the final competition of the weekend for the Wildcat junior and the final competition for the 2006-07 season.

“I think she rode really well and mistake free today,” western coach Casie Lisabeth said. “She needed to be a little more aggressive to be placed higher by the judges.”

“I feel like I could have done better today,” Wolfe said. “I expected the competition not to be as difficult as it really was. Casie helped prepare me really well for nationals and she told me to own the arena during my ride, and I didn’t do that.”
