Keenan Named Finalist at IHSA Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kansas State senior Nicole Keenan ended her senior season on a high note as she was named a finalist in Advanced Horsemanship at this past weekend’s IHSA National Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park.

“Nicole worked really hard to get to this point and she rode great this weekend,” said Lisabeth. “I am so proud of what she has accomplished. It has taken a lot of patience and fine tuning on her part.”

A native of Oakley, Keenan was one of 12 riders to qualify as a finalist nationally. She originally qualified for IHSA Regionals at K-State’s IHSA Western show by reaching the 35 points required on February 27.

At the Black Hawk College Regional on March 16, Kennan was able to take home top honors, qualifying her to ride in the IHSA Semifinals at St. Andrews College on March 27-28. It was here where she clinched her spot in Nationals, finishing in the top two to advance to Lexington for the National competition.
