MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's equestrian team will hold a mandatory meeting at 5p.m. Monday, August 23, for those who wish to try out for the 2010-11 squad. The meeting will take place in Seaton Hall, Room 132, and will be in conjunction with the open walk-on tryouts that will be held on August 24 and 25.

At the meeting, the Wildcat coaching staff will explain the tryout procedure and the expectations of a K-State student-athlete. Also, all riders need to be experienced in either horsemanship, equitation on the flat or equitation over fences, in order to try out. However, there will be no reining tryouts at this time. This meeting is MANDATORY for those who wish to try out for the team. Potential squad members, with the exception of those student-athletes who were on the team last season and have been named to the returner list, will need to participate in the tryouts.

All interested riders will need to bring their fall class schedules, as well as a copy of their insurance card, to the meeting. Individuals that cannot attend the meeting due to a class conflict need to contact head coach Casie Lisabeth at lisabeth@kstatesports.com prior to August 23 in order to complete the appropriate paperwork and sign up for a tryout time. Official tryouts will take place on Tuesday, August 24 and Wednesday, August 25. All interested riders will need to sign up for a tryout time over the two allotted days.

The final roster will be announced on Wednesday, August 25. Once the final roster is announced, all riders will be required to pass a fitness test before participating in the first practice of the season.

Due to NCAA regulations, those students who have been enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more hours) prior to the fall of 2006 will not be eligible to tryout.
