K-State Finishes 12th at Westbrook Invitational

PEORIA, Ariz. - The Kansas State women's golf team finished in 12th place with a score of 26-over par 890 following Monday's final round of the Westbrook Invitational at the par-72, 6,269-yard Vistas Course.

The Wildcats tallied 10 birdies on the day en route to a 16-over par 294, improving from their second-round score from Sunday.

"This was not the best event for us, but we did get three good scores today," head coach Kristi Knight said. "This course sets you up for low scores, but we just could not quite get there as a team."

Senior Olivia Eliasson and freshman Connie Jaffrey both finished tied for 33rd after carding a 5-over par 221. Senior Carly Regains recorded the lowest third round for the team with a 1-under par 71 and finished the tournament at 7-over par 223 in a tie for 46th.

Sophomore Madison Talley finished tied for 65th with a final score of 11-over par 227, while sophomore Katherine Gravel-Coursol finished tied for 80th and carded a 19-over par 235. Playing as an individual, junior Scotland Preston carded a 15-over par 231 while finishing tied for 72nd.

Tennessee's A.J. Newell won individual honors with a final score of 6-under par 210, one stroke ahead of second-place finisher Cathleen Santoso of Oregon.
