PEORIA, Ariz. - Following a season-low score on Sunday, the Kansas State women's golf team nearly duplicated that feat Monday as the Wildcats fired a 4-over par 292 to finish in a tie for ninth at the Westbrook Invitational held at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club.

The Wildcats were led by junior Olivia Eliasson, who concluded her successful tournament by recording a season-best score of 1-under par 215 to finish at a tie for 11th place. It was the third top-20 finish for Elaisson this season and the top individual 54-Hole performance for K-State during the 2013-14 campaign. Eliasson carded 11 birdies overall, the fifth-most of the tournament.

"There are many positives to take away from this event," head coach Kristi Knight said. "Oliva was steady all three rounds. I wanted to see a better fourth score today, but that is team golf."

Senior Gianna Misenhleter fired a 1-under par 71 in Monday's final round to move up 14 spots, finishing the tournament in a tie for 22nd with a season-best 2-over par 218. Misenhelter led all competitors in par-3 scoring with a 2.75 average.

Junior Carly Ragains fired a 1-under par 71 in the final round en route to a season-best 54-hole performance of 4-over par 220, good for a tie for 33rd place. Ragains was very consistent throughout the tournament, carding 40 pars to tie for the eighth-most overall with Wildcat sophomore Scotland Preston. Preston finished the tournament at a tie for 55th at 9-over par 225, also a season-best.

"Gianna and Carly bounced back strong in this event," Knight said. "Having three team-scores under 295 is great to see."

Freshman Katherine Gravel-Coursol carded seven birdies and finished the tournament at a tie for 69th with a season-best score of 12-over par 228.

Freshman Madison Talley finished fourth among those competing as an individual and tied for 63rd overall with a 10-over par 226, also a season best.

Ohio State had a strong final round to finish on top of the leaderboard with a tournament-record score of 26-under par 838, 10 strokes ahead of second-place Oregon.

Ohio State's Jessica Porvasnik finished on top of the leaderboard with a final score of 13-under par 203, four strokes ahead of second-place finishers Cathleen Santoso and Cassy Isagawa of Oregon, as well as teammateZoe-Beth Brake.

The Wildcats will be back in action March 17-18, as they travel west to St. George, Utah, to compete in the BYU Entrada Classic.
