PEORIA, Ariz. -- The Kansas State women's golf team turned in a season-best 9-over par 297 score during the final round Monday en route to a sixth-place finish at the Westbrook Invitational at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club.

The Wildcats were led by Olivia Eliasson, who continued her success in the final round by recording her second even-par score of the tournament. The sophomore, who shot par for the first two times this season, carded a 54-hole score of 5-over par 221 to finish in 12th.

"This tournament was a solid start to spring," head coach Kristi Knight said. "Olivia played very well in the second and third rounds. Whitney bounced back strong today, and we also picked up a win against No. 42 Wisconsin."

Whitney Pyle had a solid third round, tallying a 1-over par 73, and also displayed integrity early in the morning. Pyle's second-round score was listed incorrectly on her scorecard Sunday, therefore disqualifying her round from counting towards her and the team's total score.

"Whitney acted with honesty and integrity," Knight added. "She saw her score was wrong following yesterday's round. Whitney knew she had shot a 78 and noticed her marker had given her a three on the ninth hole instead of a four. She knew she had to speak up because she did not have a birdie or a final score of 77."

Gianna Misenhelter notched a 5-over par 77 in the final round to finish in a tie for 34th.

Hanna Roos finished with a 54-hole score of 18-over par 234 to finish in a tie for 58th, and two strokes behind Roos was Scotland Preston, who finished in 60th.

Competing as an individual, Carly Ragains bettered her strokecount by three in the final round to finish with a 54-hole score of 14-over par 230.

Texas Tech had a strong final round to finish on top of the leaderboard at 2-under par 862, five strokes ahead of second-place Arkansas.

Arkansas's Gabriela Lopez finished on top of the leaderboard with a final score of 8-under par 208, two strokes ahead of second-place Kimberly Kaufman of Texas Tech and SooBin Kim of Washington.

The Wildcats will be back in action next week, March 4-5, as they travel west to San Jose, Calif., to compete in the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational.
