Cats in 10th after Two Rounds of Hurricane Invitational

MIAMI, Fla. - The Kansas State women's golf team sits in 10th following two rounds of the Hurricane Invitational on Monday at the par-71, 6,017-yard Deering Bay Yacht and Country Club Golf Course.

The Wildcats carded a 63-over par 631 on the day and will look to move up the leaderboard in the third and final round on Tuesday.

"We had too many poor shots today," said head coach Kristi Knight. "It was a very penalizing course, but tomorrow is another day and we will be back at it."

One of the bright spots for K-State was Gianna Misenhelter, who moved up 10 spots on the leaderboard in the second round to sit in a tie for 26th following a 3-over par 74. Hanna Roos also sits in a tie for 26th with a 36-hole score of 13-over par 155.

Whitney Pyle climbed two spots in the second round to sit in a tie for 34th with a 15-over par 157.  One stroke behind Pyle was Ami Storey who fell three spots in the second round to sit in a tie for 39th.

Olivia Eliasson tallied a 22-over par 164, and Paige Osterloo rounded out the scoring lineup with a 27-over par 169.

Host school Miami leads the event at 29-over par 597, eight strokes ahead of second-place Ohio State.

Campbell's Brooke Bellomy leads all individuals with a 2-over par 144. Two strokes behind Bellomy is Ohio State's Amy Meier.

The third and final round of the Hurricane Invitational will be a shotgun start at 8 a.m., on Tuesday. Live stats can be followed on and results will be posted at the conclusion of play on
