Wildcats Battle Through Windy Conditions Monday

JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. — Due to a suspended second round, the Kansas State women’s golf team sits in a tie for 13th following an 18-hole score of 34-over par 322 Monday at the par 72, 6,120-yard Briar’s Creek Golf Club.

Second-round play was suspended at 7:15 p.m. (ET) and will continue at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday with the final round to follow. Players battled windy conditions of 25-30 miles per hour with gusts up to 40.

Olivia Eliasson led the Wildcats with a first-round score of 4-over par 76 to sit in a tie for ninth. The sophomore looks to continue her solid play in the second and third rounds to earn her second top-10 finish of the season.

Carly Ragains fired an 8-over par 80, and one stroke behind Ragains was Whitney Pyle, who sits in a tie for 43rd.

“There was tough conditions today,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “Olivia did a good job in round one, and Carly and Whitney played a lot of quality holes. Each had a hole or two that cost them shots. We have a chance to improve our position tomorrow, and we need to learn from today and move forward.”

Hanna Roos turned in a 13-over par 85, and Gianna Misenhelter rounded out the scoring lineup with an 18-hole score of 18-over par 90.

Coastal Carolina leads the team competition at 17-over 305, two strokes ahead of second-place UCF.

Coastal Carolina’s Brittany Henderson is on top of the individual leaderboard with an 18-hole score of 1-under par 71, one stroke ahead of teammate Jessica Alexander.
