TUCSON, Ariz. – The Kansas State women’s golf team shot a 14-over par 301 in the final round to record its best three-round score over the last five events to finish in 14th at the Mountain View Collegiate on Saturday. K-State had three Wildcats record season-low scores at the Mountain View Country Club.

K-State’s 40-over par 904 is the lowest three-round team-score the Wildcats have recorded since they notched a 904 at the Johnie Imes Invitational during the fall season. The Wildcats finished ahead of Big 12 competition, Kansas and Baylor, which claimed 17th and 18th respectively out of the 18 teams competing.

Arkansas’ Emily Tubert won the individual competition with a 9-under par 207. A mark that set a Mountain View Collegiate record, besting Erika Moston of San Jose State in 2009, Elaine Harris for Indiana in 2007 and Meghan Little of Louisville in 2005, who all had 7-under 209’s. Tubert’s final round score of 5-under par 67 tied the best individual round in Mountain View Collegiate history, matching former Wildcat Abbi Sunner’s mark in 2009.

Iowa State takes the team championship with a score of 7-under par 857, setting a new record for the competition. The Cyclones bested second-place Oklahoma, which recorded a 1-under par 863.

K-State’s Whitney Pyle led the Wildcats with a career-low three-round total of 6-over par 222, to finish in a tie for 30th. Her previous 54-hole-low came at the Sunflower Invitational during the fall season where she tallied an 11-over par 227 to tie for sixth. Pyle had also recorded a career-low 18-hole score of 3-under par 69 in the first round of this week’s competition.

Ami Storey’s 54-hole score of 9-over par 225 is also a season-low and gives her a tie for 45th among individuals. Storey carded a 5-over par 77 in the final round.

Gianna Misenhelter notched a 3-over par 75 in the final round to give her a three-round score of 13-over par 229. She finishes in a tie for 61st.
