Gravel-Coursol Leads K-State on Day Two

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Kansas State women's golf sophomore Katherine Gravel-Coursol carded a 2-over par 74 on Saturday to move four spots up the leaderboard during the second round of the 2015 Big 12 Championship at Dominion Country Club.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 17-over par 305 on the day to enter final-round play in ninth place at 30-over par 606.

"This is not where we wanted to be after two rounds," head coach Kristi Knight said. "We have played well in parts of both rounds, but in this league it takes putting an entire round together. The ladies are giving great effort, and they will do their best tomorrow to put together four great scores."

Gravel-Coursol began her day on a high note with a birdie on No.1, and she played the front nine 1-under par before playing the back nine at 3-over par for her final tally of 74. She enters final-round play in a tie for 26th at 6-over par 150.

Freshman Connie Jaffrey is in 32nd place after carding a 3-over par 75 on Saturday and sits at 8-over par 152 through 36 holes. Seniors Olivia Eliasson and Carly Ragains are two shots behind Jaffrey at 10-over par 154 and a tie for 34th. Madison Talley is in 40th place entering the final round at 12-over par 156.

Thanks to three players in the top 10, Baylor leads the team competition at 3-under par 573, 10 shots ahead of second-place Texas Tech. Oklahoma State's Kenzie Neisen leads the individual competition by three strokes at 5-under par 139.

The final round of the 2015 Big 12 Women's Golf Championship will tee off at 8 a.m., Sunday morning. Live stats can be followed on www.golfstat.com, while final results will be posted at www.k-statesports.com following the conclusion of the event.
