Talley Starts off Strong at NCAA Regional

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Kansas State women's golfer Madison Talley carded an even-par 72 on Thursday and sits in a tie for 33rd place following the first round of the 2015 NCAA San Antonio Regional at the par-72, 6,350-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Course.

"We are proud of her," head coach Kristi Knight. "She played a lot of good golf. She had a couple shots get ways late in the round, but there is a lot of golf to play and she is playing well. We are looking forward to tomorrow."

Talley enters the second round three shots out of the top 10 and five behind the leaders. She was 2-under par through 16 holes but bogeyed the final two holes to go back to even par. Talley's even-par performance is the eighth time this season she has broken even in a round.

Tennessee leads the team competition with a score of 12-under par 276, two shots ahead of second-place UCLA. Kansas' Yupaporn Kawinpakorn and Baylor's Haley Davis sit on top of the individual leaderboard after a 5-under par 67 in the first round.
