Talley Remains Consistent in Round Two

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Kansas State women's golf sophomore Madison Talley carded her second-straight round of even-par 72 on Friday during the second round of the 2015 NCAA San Antonio Regional at Briggs Ranch Golf Course. Talley improved four spots on the leaderboard as she enters Saturday's final round tied for 29th at even-par 144.

"Madison did a nice job again today," head coach Kristi Knight said. "She is hitting quality shots and making good decisions. We are very proud of her."

Beginning on the back nine, Talley got her round off to a solid start as she birdied No. 10 but bogeyed holes 12 and 13 to go to 1-over par. However, she came back with a birdie on the par-4 16th hole and parred the final two holes to make the turn at even par 36.

On her second nine, Talley bogeyed hole Nos. 1 and 6 but immediately rebounded both times with a birdie-3 on the par-4 second hole and a birdie-4 on the par-5 seventh hole. She closed out her round with a pair of pars, including on No. 9 when she was on the green before play was suspended for two hours, 41 minutes due to lightning in the area.

Baylor's Haley Davis, who was tied for first after round one, carded a 4-under par 68 on Friday and enters final-round play in sole possession of first place at 9-under par 135. She leads a duo of golfers -- Baylor's Dylan Kim and UCLA's Bronte Law -- by one shot. Tennessee held on to the top spot on the team leaderboard at 19-under par 557. The Volunteers lead second-place Baylor by four shots entering the final round.

Talley tees off for the third and final round of the NCAA San Antonio Regional at 8:15 a.m., on Saturday. Live stats can be followed on www.golfstat.com and final results will be posted on www.k-statesports.com following the conclusion of the event.
