Day One Johnie Imes Get Acrobat Reader

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Kansas State women’s golf team carded a 36-hole score of 23-over par 599 to sit in fourth place after day one of the Johnie Imes Invitational at the par 72, 6,204-yard Club at Old Hawthorne.

The Wildcats are just one stroke back of host school Missouri and three strokes shy second-place Florida International. Texas State leads the pack at 9-over par 585.

“There was a lot of good golf played today, but we did make some mistakes,” head coach Kristi Knight said. “We did not finish the second round strong, unfortunately, but overall, we competed well. Tomorrow is a chance to improve and move up the board.”

Gianna Misenhelter and Ami Storey currently sit in a tie for 11th, notching a 3-over par 147. Misenhelter slipped in the second round following a solid first 18 holes of 1-under par 71. Storey tied her career best 18-hole score in the first round of play by turning in a 1-over par 73.

Whitney Pyle and Paige Osterloo both sit in 30th by tallying an 8-over par 152.

Competing as an individual, Laura Hildebrandt notched a 14-over par 158. Hildebrandt carded a 4-over par 76 in the second round of play, improving her first-round total by six strokes.

Kristen Dorsey rounded up the scoring lineup shooting a 16-over par 160.

Illinois State’s Brianna Cooper and Texas State’s Krista Puisite enter the final round of play atop the leaderboard at 2-under par 142.

Kansas State will look to make a move in the third and final round of the Johnie Imes Invitational on Tuesday, which is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Live stats will be available on www.golfstat.com, and results will be posted at the conclusion of play at www.kstatesports.com.
