Women's Golf in 10th Through One Round

First Round Results

OWASSO, Okla. – Through one round of competition at the Dale McNamara Invitational, the Kansas State women’s golf team is in 10th place after carding an 18-over par 306.

The Wildcats shot consistent golf throughout the round but had a few big numbers on costly holes at The Patriot Golf Club, a par-72, 6,450-yard course that is the longest K-State has competed on this season. Monday marked the third time the Wildcats have scored a one-round total of 306 this season.

The 39th-ranked UNLV Rebels are tied with No. 20 Oklahoma for first place among team competition with a tally of 4-over par 292.

Oklahoma’s Ellen Mueller leads all individuals after recording a 5-under par 67, edging second-place Kristina Merkle of Tulsa, who notched a 4-under par 68.

Gianna Misenhelter paces the Wildcats for the third straight event after round one, scoring a 2-over par 74 to sit in a tie for 16th. Ami Storey is right behind Misenhelter as she carded a 3-over par 75 in round one and is in a tie for 21st.

In a tie for 42nd is Whitney Pyle, who recorded an 18-hole score of 6-over par 78, while Paige Osterloo tallied a 7-over par 79 to put her in a tie for 50th.

Hanna Roos is competing as an individual this week and joins Osterloo in 50th at 7-over par 79.

Emily Houtz penciled in an 8-over par 80 to slip into a tie for 62nd.

K-State’s second round will tee off at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Live scores can be followed at www.golfstat.com and results will be posted at www.k-statesports.com as soon as they become available.
