Misenhelter Grabs Fourth Top-20 Finish at Dale McNamara

OWASSO, Okla. – Gianna Misenhelter penciled in a 2-over par 74 to finish in a tie for 19th among 90 individuals after the conclusion of the Dale McNamara Invitational held at the par-72, 6,450-yard Patriot Golf Club on Wednesday.

After recording her highest score of the year of 8-over par 80 in round two, Misenhelter rebounded to shave six strokes in the final round and move up 14 spots on the leaderboard to tally her fourth top-20 finish in as many events this season. It marks the second consecutive time Misenhelter has led the Wildcats in scoring.

Misenhelter’s performance helped K-State move up three spots in team competition to finish 10th. The Wildcats totaled a 16-over par 304 in the third round, giving them an event total of 67-over par 931. K-State defeated Nebraska and Missouri to record a 7-0 combined record this season against the Huskers and Tigers.

Oklahoma never surrendered the top spot as it took first among the 16-team field with a score of 13-over par 877. The same is said of Oklahoma’s Ellen Mueller as she held the lead throughout three rounds and finished with a first-place total of 7-under par 209.

Ami Storey slipped on the leaderboard in the final round to a tie for 25th. The junior ended with a 54-hole total of 15-over par 231 after a score of 9-over par 81 in the third round.

Whitney Pyle recorded her best round of the invitational of 4-over par 76, lifting her to a tie for 44th. Paige Osterloo also notched her best score of the invitational with a 2-over par 74, giving her a 54-hole score of 23-over par 239. Osterloo moved up 15 spots to finish in a tie for 55th.

Emily Houtz finished in a tie for 80th with a 54-hole total of 37-over par 253, while Hanna Roos finished in a tie for 62nd after recording a three-round score of 26-over par 242.

K-State will conclude its fall slate Oct. 31-Nov. 2 at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, held at Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
