Wichita, Kan.- The Kansas State women's golf team is in first place after two rounds at the Sunflower Invitational at the par-72, 5,953-yard Willowbend Golf Club. The Wildcats shot a combined score of 603 (304-299) to place them one stroke ahead of second place Texas-El Paso. K-State's afternoon round of 299 was the team's best round of the season.

"It was nice to get out to a solid start," head coach Kristi Knight said. "It was a good day. The course is set up for them to score. Although we are in a good position, every one of the players know they can do better. They all felt like they left some strokes out there."
