Wildcats Sit in 11th Entering Final Round

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Kansas State women’s golf team sits in a tie for 11th after Monday’s second round of play at the UNLV Showdown at the par 72, 6,230-yard Stallion Mountain Golf Club.

The Wildcats notched a 26-over par 314 in the second round to earn a 36-hole score of 46-over par 622.

UCF currently leads the team competition with a 36-hole score of 20-over par 596, two strokes ahead of second-place Penn State and three strokes ahead of third-place Indiana.

Christina Vosters of Penn State leads the individual competition with a 36-hole score of even-par 144, one stroke ahead of Ally McDonald of Mississippi State.

“It was a rough day today,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “We did not score well, but our effort was certainly there.”

Senior Whitney Pyle led the Wildcats in the second round with an 18-hole score of 6-over par 78 to earn a 36-hole score of 10-over par 154 and sit in a tie for 36th.

Carly Ragains and Hanna Roos both sit in a tie for 45th with a 36-hole score of 12-over par 156.

Olivia Eliasson tallied a 6-over par 78 to notch a 36-hole score of 14-over par 158, and two strokes behind Eliasson is Gianna Misenhelter with a 16-over par 160.
