Kiawah, S.C. - The Kansas State women's golf team finished the first round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate in a tie for eighth at the par 72 5,907-yard Oak Point Golf Course on Sunday, and, due to darkness, the final four holes of the second round were postponed until Monday.

The Wildcats notched a 17-over par 305 in the first round, just eight strokes behind a tie for third place.

Whitney Pyle led the Wildcats with a 2-over par 74 and sits in a tie for 13th midway through the second round. Pyle will look to continue her solid play and earn her first top-10 finish of the fall season.

Gianna Misenhelter and Ami Storey both carded a 3-over par 75 after the first round, but Storey fell during the second round and currently sits in a tie for 48th. Misenhelter was tied for sixth when play was suspended.

"Gianna has been playing well, and Whitney has been solid," head coach Kristi Knight said. "It's been an up and down day, but tomorrow is a chance to learn from our mistakes and move up the leaderboard."

Paige Osterloo notched a 9-over par 81 in the first round. Kristen Dorsey tallied an 11-over par 83, but rebounded in the second round before play was halted.

North Carolina-Greensboro tallied a 5-over par 293 and is currently on top of the leaderboard, two strokes ahead of Campbell.

UNCG's Fanny Cnops currently sits in first place, but Jacksonville State's Lourdes Lopez and UNCG's Ana Lucia Martinez are one stroke behind Cnops.

Live stats of the second and third rounds of the Palmetto Intercollegiate will be available on www.golfstat.com, and results will be posted at the conclusion of play on Monday.
