?Cats to Play in Hawaii

MANHATTAN, Kan. -  The Kansas State women’s golf team is coming off a solid performance at the Duramed Collegiate Invitational and will now play in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by Hawaii. The tournament, which will be played at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course, will be a 54-hole tournament with 18 holes played each day. The first of three rounds will begin with a shotgun start on Monday at 7:30 a.m. The final two rounds will be Tuesday and Wednesday, also at 7:30 a.m.


LAST TIME OUT: K-State was led by Junior Abbi Sunner in the Duramed Collegiate Invitational. Sunner shot a 75-75-77227 and finished in a tie for 18th. Freshman Ami Storey and Sophomore Emily Houtz also had their best finishes of the year finishing in 22nd and 42nd respectively.


THE FIELD: Competing are Boise State, HawaiI, Idaho, Indiana,

K-State, Lipscomb, Nagoya University, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Osaka Gakuin, Texas A&M and UTEP.


THE HOST Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course:  The Hawaii women’s golf program will host the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The tournament is named after Dr. Donnis Thompson, a former director of athletics and track and field coach at Hawaii. The Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course is a par 72 at 5,907 yards.


LOOKING AHEAD:  Freshman Paige Osterloo will make her first appearance in the lineup this spring and will be one of three underclassmen competing. The Cats will look to build off Abbi Sunner and Ami Storey’s solid performances in the Duramed Collegiate Invitational where they finished 18th and 22nd respectively.
