Sunner Moves Up Three Spots

FLORENCE, Ariz. – Kansas State’s Abbi Sunner moved up the leaderboard from 11th to grab a share of eighth-place after the conclusion of the second round of the Northern Migration Invitational Tuesday.

Sunner and the Wildcats shot a second-round 309 (+21) at Poston Butte Golf Course. K-State was unable to improve from their first round 18-over par 306 but scores were tough to improve among the 19-team field and still sit in a tie for ninth-place after two rounds.

The Cats are tied with Eastern Michigan, who over two rounds, have shot a 615 (+39).

“Abbi did a nice job today,” said coach Kristi Knight. “The other ladies are doing their best. It is just two or three holes here or there holding us back. They had a good practice after the round.”

The University of Texas-San Antonio continues to lead the team competition after recording a second-round score of 296 (+8). The Roadrunners hold a one-stroke lead over Idaho. The Vandals tallied a second round 296 (+8) as well.
