MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women’s golf team will make its third appearance of the spring at the BYU at Entrada Classic held at Entrada at Snow Canyon Golf Course, March 21-22. This will be the eighth year of the event and will tee-off with 36 holes on Monday followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.

THE FIELD: K-State has tallied a 41-54-1 (.432) record this season. The Wildcats will be joined by Big 12 foe’s Nebraska and Oklahoma State, holding a record of 4-3 against them. The entire 15-team field consists of: BYU, Colorado St., Illinois, Kansas State, New Mexico State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, SMU, Southern Utah, UTSA, Texas State, Tulsa, Weber State, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

BYU ENTRADA CLASSIC PREVIEW: K-State showed improved scores in its second event of the spring and will feature a new lineup again for the third straight event. Whitney Pyle, Gianna Misenhelter, Paige Osterloo, Ami Storey and Kristen Dorsey will make the trip to St. George, Utah.

The Wildcats will be looking to get back to the form they had in early fall when they recorded 10 top-20 performances. Contributing to that number was Pyle, who owns a team best 76.88 stroke-average and notched two top-10 finishes during that fall stretch. Pyle will compete for just the second time this Spring.

Misenhelter was a large part of the top-20 performances as well with four under her name. The freshman will make her eighth consecutive appearance, competing in every event thus far.

Osterloo is the only other Wildcat that can make the claim of playing in every event. The junior has a stroke average of 77.60 on the season through 20 rounds.

This will be Dorsey’s second appearance of the season and the first of the spring. The sophomore’s previous event came at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational where she competed as an individual and finished 61st. She has an 85.00 stroke average through three rounds. This will be the first time Dorsey competes towards team score this season.

Storey will make her seventh appearance of the season and just the second of the spring. After 17 rounds of golf, Storey owns a 78.00 stroke average.

K-State has never competed in the featured event.

LAST TIME OUT: The final round of the Fresno State Lexus Classic brought improved scores across the board for Kansas State as the Wildcats finished 11th out of 16 teams.

K-State saw its lowest scores of the event come from each individual in the lineup, to contribute to a final-round 20-over par 308 at Copper River Country Club. That score marked the lowest in a single round of the six played this spring season by the Wildcats.

K-State finished with an 87-over par 951 for the event.

ENTRADA AT SNOW CANYON: The event will take place at the 6,154-yard, par-72 Entrada at Snow Canyon. Entrada’s Johnny Miller Signature golf Course was rated Utah’s best year-round golf course by Golf Digest.
