MANHATTAN, Kan.—The Kansas State women’s golf team will travel to Tucson, Ariz., this Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24, to compete in the Mountain View Collegiate at the par 72, 6,227-yard Mountain View Golf Club.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday with a 7:30 a.m., shotgun start each day.

“The ladies are eager to get to the tournament and play,” said head coach Kristi Knight, whose team hasn’t played since March 5-6 at the Hurricane Invitational. “This is a strong field of teams, and it is a great opportunity for us.”

Kansas State will send the scoring lineup of Gianna Misenhelter, Whitney Pyle, Hanna Roos, Carly Ragains and Ami Storey, which marks the first time this season this lineup has been used. Kristen Dorsey will also compete as an individual.

Misenhelter is looking to bounce back from a 34th-place finish at the Hurricane Invitational and continue her successful sophomore campaign. Misenhelter leads the team with a 74.29 stroke average and has collected four top-10 finishes.

Pyle also looks to continue her successful 2011-12 season as she is right behind Misenhelter with a 76.00 stroke average. The junior led the Wildcats at the Hurricane Invitational with a 23-over par 236 to tie for 27th.

Carly Ragains, a freshman Highland Village, Texas, is a member of the scoring lineup for the first time this season. She finished 33rd as an individual in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational at Colbert Hills in September.

The Wildcats will be joined at the Mountain View Collegiate by Colorado State, Gonzaga, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, San Jose State, SMU, Texas Tech and Wyoming.

K-State will serve as a tri-host for the Mountain View Collegiate along with Louisville and Missouri. The event was originally started by the University of Colorado.

Results of the Mountain View Collegiate will be posted on www.kstatesports.com at the conclusion of play both Friday and Saturday.
