Women's Golf Travels To Mountain View Collegiate

Mountain View Collegiate Notes Get Acrobat Reader

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women's golf team will travel to Tucson, Ariz., for the 13th annual Mountain View Collegiate, held March 25-26. (The 54-hole format will be held at the Mountain View Country Club and will begin with a 9:30 a.m. (CT) shotgun start on Friday with two rounds being played the first day the final round will take place Saturday morning.

THE FIELD: K-State has tallied a 46-63-1 (.418) overall record this season. Eight Big 12 teams will join the Wildcats at the event while the 18-team field will be the largest K-State has competed against this season. The entire 18-team field consists of No. 12 Arkansas, Baylor, No. 28 Colorado, Colorado State, Gonzaga, Indiana, No. 13 Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, No. 26 Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Jose State, Texas State, Texas Tech and Wyoming. MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGIATE PREVIEW: It will be a short turnaround for the Wildcats after just competing at the BYU at Entrada Classic earlier in the week. K-State will provide the lineup of Paige Osterloo, Gianna Misenhelter, Whitney Pyle, Ami Storey and Kristen Dorsey, for the second straight event and just the second time this season.

The Wildcats received a great showing from Osterloo where she tied for sixth to give her a total of two top-10 finishes this season. Her 54-hole score of 10-over par 226 marked a career-low. Osterloo has competed in every event this season.

Misenhelter holds a team-low stroke average of 77.21. The freshman has also recorded the most top-20 finishes among the Wildcats this season, participating in every event.

Dorsey will be making just her third event of the year as she has an 84.50 stroke average through six rounds.

2010 MOUNTAIN VIEW COLLEGIATE: K-State finished 14th out of the 18 teams in last year's field. Hanna Roos finished in a tie for 18th. Individually Storey is the only Wildcat on this year's squad that competed in this event last year as she recorded an 18-over par 234 to tie for 65th.

LAST TIME OUT: After starting the final round in a tie for eighth, Osterloo carded a 2-over par 74 to move up two spots on the leaderboard at the BYU at Entrada Classic, finishing in a tie for sixth.

The Wildcats finished 10th in team competition among the 15 squads that participated at the par-72, 6,073-yard Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club.

Osterloo's sixth-place achievement is the second top-10 finish and the fourth top-20 finish of her career. It is also the highest finish of her junior season since she tied for second at the Chip-N-Club Invitational during the fall.

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTRY CLUB: The competition will take place at Mountain View Country Club at Saddlebrook Community. The par 72, 6,126-yard links course sets against the Santa Catalina Mountains.
