K-State to Finish Regular Season in Indiana

MANHATTAN, Kan.—The Kansas State women’s golf team will travel to Bloomington, Ind., this Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15, to compete in the Indiana Invitational at the par-71, 6,477-yard Indiana University Golf Course. The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday, with an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start each day.

The Wildcats are coming off of an eighth-place finish at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate and look to build momentum for the conference tournament, which will be held April 27-29 in Lawrence, Kan.

“The team is ready to compete again,” said head coach Kristi Knight. “This is our first trip to the Indiana University Golf Course, and, as always, confidence and composure will be our keys to success.”

K-State will send Carly Ragains, Gianna Misenhelter, Kristen Dorsey, Whitney Pyle, Hanna Roos, Ami Storey and Paige Osterloo to Indiana. The five-person scoring lineup will be determined on Friday, while the other two players will compete as individuals.

Ragains, who currently has the second highest stroke average at 75.33, led the team at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate, and looks to continue her successful spring season. Two weeks ago at the Mountain View Collegiate, Ragains finished 12th in her first appearance of the spring.

Gianna Misenhelter, who leads the Wildcats with a stroke average of 74.52, will look bounce back from a 33rd-place finish at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate.

Whitney Pyle, who currently has the third best stroke average of 75.96, will look to earn her fifth top-20 finish on the season.

K-State will be joined at the Indiana Invitational by Bradley, Eastern Michigan, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana, Missouri State, Toledo, Valparaiso, Western Michigan and UMKC.
