?Cats Begin Post Season in Lubbock
MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State women’s golf team will begin the post-season portion of its schedule as the Wildcats travel to Lubbock, Texas, to compete in the Big 12 Championship at the Rawls Course, Friday-Sunday, April 24-26. K-State will make its second visit to the Rawls Course this season as it played in the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational last fall.The tournament will be one round each day beginning at 8 a.m.
K-STATE LINEUP: Abbi Sunner will make her third appearance in the Big 12 Championship on Friday, while Elise Houtz will make her second. Morgan Moon, Ami Storey and Paige Osterloo will all be competing for the first time in the tournament.
Sunner finished the reguular season leading or tying the team in seven different categories, including events played, stroke average, low 18, low 36, low 54, highest finish and top-20 finishes. Sunner shot a career-best round of 67 in the Mountain View Collegiate this spring, which set a tournament record for the lowest score in a round. Sunner also placed in the top 20 in four consecutive tournaments this season.
Houtz shot a career-best round of 73 in the Mountain View Collegiate this spring and also had the highest finish of her career in the Susie Maxwell Classic, where she finished in a tie for 24th place, carding a 82-75-84241.
Moon had the highest finish of her Wildcat career in the Jeannine McHaney/Audrey Morehead Invitational in the fall, where she carded a 12-over 80-77-74231 and finished tied for 13th.
Storey came on strong in the spring of her freshman season, where she shot a personal record of 228 in the Duramed Collegiate Invitational, she followed that by marking her highest career finish in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, where she finished in a tie for 19th place.
Osterloo started her collegiate career out strong by tying for 22nd in the first tournament of the year and followed that by tying for 20th place in the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational. Osterloo shot a personal-best round of 69 in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational in

LAST TIME OUT: K-State was never able to fully recover from a slow start in the Susie Maxwell Classic, as the Wildcats shot a 337 in the opening round and finished with a 337-316-324977 for the tournament. The Wildcats did have a duo finish on the cusp of a top 20 finish in freshman Ami Storey and sophomore Elise Houtz. Storey carded a 24-over score of 240 to finish tied for 21st place and Houtz finished just one stroke back from K-State’s leader in a tie for 24th place.
