K-State Signs Second Player of 2009 Class

MANHATTAN, Kan. - The Kansas State Women’s golf program announced the signing of Hanna Roos to a National Letter of Intent on Friday. Roos, a graduate of Celsius High School in Uppsala, Sweden, will join a K-State squad that returns all its players for the 2009-10 season.

Roos recently participated in the Skandia Tour Elite, the highest level for junior golfers in Sweden. Roos also ranked first in the Order of Merit on the 2008 Upland Tour. The Uppsala product also helped the Uppsala Golf Club’s junior team to a fourth-place ranking out of the 323 teams in Sweden. Twin sister, Maria, will play at Mississippi State next year.

“She is a talented player who will add great depth to our strong returning line-up,” head coach Kristi Knight said. “Competing on the junior tours in Sweden has provided Hanna with experience playing in various weather conditions and on difficult golf courses.”

Roos joins Whitney Pyle, of Blue Valley West High School, as the second player signed for K-State’s 2009 recruiting class.
